Poetry: Bruised

Stains of violet

Slither round my neck

Displayed like a chain of amethyst

On my aching knees with swollen eyes

I choke on my battered heart

Spit out the remains

For you

Cracking your knuckles to the pace of my breathing

Trapped tears

Tear my scream from my lungs

Like my hair in your fist

My iron blood

I taste from your fingertips

Plunged down my throat

Whispering words

Whilst shattering bones

My only love
