Poetry: The First Day Of Spring

The unmarked snow
Waves of ivory silk envelops the land
Like the currents of ice water in a river
The tender touch which gathers the rocks
He arranges them

The blanket breaks
Unscathed
A stem emerges and begins a sea
Swirls of emeralds united with rubies
He pulls the flower from the earth

Bringing the blossom to his lips
Stroking the petals before he plucks
One by one
Floating with grace
He removes them all

Beauty absent
Body existent
She does not wilt
Gifted purity
He gave her love
